Teng Cheong Thye
Mr. Teng has had 18 years of experience in the fund management industry investing in the stock markets of the Asia-Pacific region, including Japan. He worked in the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation (GIC) as an equity portfolio manager from January 1995 to September 2012. Before he retired from GIC in September 2012, he was a Senior Vice President in the Equities Department. He has held senior positions such as:
- Head, China equities investment team (April 2011 – Sept 2012)
- Head, Taiwan equities investment team (April 2005 – April 2011)
- Chief Representative GIC, Tokyo (June 2000 – April 2005)
Before joining GIC, Mr. Teng worked in the civil service as a member of the elite Administrative Service of the Singapore Government. While in the government, he held senior positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 1989 to 1995 such as First Secretary in the Singapore Embassy in Tokyo and Head of the Vietnam/Laos/Cambodia Division. Mr. Teng graduated with a Bachelor of Economics degree from Hitotsubashi University in Japan on a Singapore government scholarship. He is fluent in English, Mandarin and Japanese. He is married ,with two children.
Chia Tuck Keong
Mr Chia is the founding Director and Managing Director of SDH Institute. Before 2007, Mr Chia was in the elite Singapore Administrative Service serving at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The varied assignments during his 15 years with the Foreign Ministry included:
- First Secretary in the Singapore Embassy in Beijing;
- Deputy Director of Policy, Planning and Analysis Directorate III;
- Director of Corporate Affairs;Director of Human Resource;
- Director of East Asia Directorate;
- Consul General of Singapore to Shanghai;
- Director of ASEAN Chairmanship Taskforce;
Mr Chia graduated with a Bachelor of Economics from Hitotsubashi University, Japan on a Singapore government scholarship and earned a Master of Management from the Peking University, China, under the Singapore China Foundation Premier Scholarship.
Group Vice President (Operations)
Ms.Tin has 19 years of corporate experiences, inclusive of 13 years in Educational Institutions (PEIs) and of which 9 years were in leadership roles. Her varied assignments included:
- Assistant Director & HOD, UMG College (Kyeemyndine, Yangon);
- Senior Adminsistrative Officer, Altron Shipping Pte Ltd (Singapore);
- Assistant Lecturer, Yangon Technological Univeristy (Insein, Yangon);
- HOD & Assistant Lecturer, Technological University (Hmaw Bi, Yangon);
- Demonstrator, Technological University (Hmaw Bi, Yangon);
- Secretary, Marco Polo Entreprise Ltd (Pazuntdaung, Yangon);
Between January 2017 – March 2017, she was the former Foundation Programme Academic Head at Temasek International College. In April 2017, SEG’s management promoted her to Group Vice President (Operations) and the Deputy GM of SEG subsidiaries. Presently TKL assists the SVP to direct overall operations, develops new businesses and strategises recruitment plans with internal staff and relevant institutional personnels intra-Myanmar.
Su Mon Phyo
Group Vice President (Special Projects)
Miss Su Mon Phyo, in her early thirties has 10 years of experiences in organizational administration in Private Education Institutions (PEIs) and Non Profit Organizations (NPOs). Graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in English Literature from Hinthada University. Concurrently she holds a Diploma in Human Resource Management from IQN (UK) and a Diploma in Marketing from National Management College.
Phyo has a deep passion for teaching, between 2006 to 2016, she has adjunct taught English in several Private International Schools to pre-teens and teenagers. Between October 2014 – July 2015, she was the former Student Services Manager at Temasek International College.
In May 2016, Temasek International College’s management sought her out and promoted her to Deputy General Manager. In January 2017, she is promoted to Group Vice President (Special Projects). Phyo is very keen to be involved in various aspects of voluntary work. Since 2014, She has been volunteering regularly, teaching and conducting training in monastic schools.
Naw J Julia Sharo Phaw
Group Finance Officer
Julia is the Group Finance Officer of the Shenton group as well as Accounting lecturer of Temasek International College. She has 9 years of experiences in various corporate finance positions in Chinese state-owned enterprise and other foreign companies in Myanmar. Graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Myanmar Studies from Taunggyi University, she also holds a Diploma in Management Accounting and a Diploma in Accounting.
As an accounting professional, Julia is able to zero in on the details as well as taking a broad view of corporate finance. She also has a deep passion for teaching and sharing her accounting knowledge.
Despite her heavy responsibilities as the Group Finance Officer, she makes time to adjunct lecture in the college itself. Julia can communicate fluently in English, Burmese and Chinese.
